Dear colleague,
How in the world are ya!? I appreciated my month off from posting blog articles, as it allowed me to:
- Enjoy my family.
- Prepare a menu of back-to-school articles and guides for you.
Let's talk about those new articles.
The biggest problem I've had in the past with back-to-school season is that folks around the US and the world start school at different times, ranging roughly from late July to the week after Labor Day. How does a guy that wants to be useful help all these folks with twice-weekly blog articles? Some folks need them faster; some folks don't.
And folks need different things, too. Some need help with the very basics (e.g., classroom management, clarity of purpose), whereas others are ready for deeper dives into topics that were areas of weakness for them last school year.
Well, I came up with a solution: this year, I'm making all of the blog articles for back-to-school season available right out of the gate. Starting today, you can click and go wherever you'd like. During my regularly scheduled twice-weekly newsletters, I'll share these one at a time over the next month and a half. But if you need them, they are ready now.
Sound good?
Also, fair warning: many of the articles I'll share during back-to-school season this year are longer than my normal blog posts. This is in keeping with a goal I identified in my 23-24 year end reflection article: to make the core ideas I've written about over the past ten or so years more accessible and actionable.
So forgive me in advance for the longer articles. If you're ever tight for time, just ignore. I'll get back to briefer articles once these are out of the way.
Without further ado, below you'll find a list of the back-to-school articles I've prepared. You can access them however you wish, starting today. Want to bury yourself in my thinking? Knock yourself out. Want it in a trickle? Just make sure you're subscribed to the newsletter, and I'll take care of that in the weeks to come.

My goal this school year is to help folks apprentice to the practices and ideas I've been writing about for years. That starts with these guides, which contain the core nuggets of my bestselling books, These 6 Things and The Will to Learn. (And thank you for your support of this blog through buying those books over the years. Please still buy them, even though I'm “online-ifying” many of their core ideas. It helps a lot.)
Looking forward to teaching right beside you this year,
DSJR
