Recently, I received a message from a colleague asking for advice on how to approach the coming school year when the plan at her school is to add more to the schedule than ever before in 2021-2022.
I love the question because it's human. The subtext is, “This year has felt like survival swimming, and my leaders are speaking on a loudspeaker from a rescue boat, saying, ‘We'll throw you some weights soon!'”
So look — it's a week or so since I received the question, and the article I've been writing in response has four parts and a few thousand words already. It's a bit too… grandiose is probably the right word.
And the person asking the question doesn't need grandiosity; they need something to look forward to.
And friends, there's a lot.
Toward communicating some of that, as soon as I finished teaching today I made a response via video.
Behold: six things to think about if you're in the boat described in today's blog post title.
